Porsche India has announced that 2022 has
been its best year in terms of sales in the country. The German manufacturer
sold a total of 779 cars and SUVs last year and its EV – the Taycan – accounted
for 10% of entire sales. Worldwide sales for Porsche in 2022 were 309,884
units, an increase of 3% over 2021. Porsche India’s 2022 market performance was
a 64% YoY increase with its SUVs – the Macan and Cayenne – witnessing strong
69% annual growth. Porsche sold 399 Cayennes last year in India, making it the
bestselling model for the brand and contributing to 51% of total sales. In
comparison, the Macan was the brand’s bestseller in 2021, with 187 units sold,
roughly 39% of the total sales.
